The sprechbohrer are a phonetic-musical language art ensemble from Cologne . It mainly performs works from the border area between music, sound poetry , chanting , phonetics and language . The voice drills have received considerable attention and prizes for their recordings as well as for concerts and premieres of their own and other works. All members of the trio also work in adjoining areas, be it as speakers, solo artists, in other formations, as instrumental teachers, choirmasters, university lecturers, composers or book authors.

Speaking drills. That sounds very sober, scientific, experimental. Nevertheless, the results of the work of the drill sound pleasantly light-footed, emotional, lyrical. "The" voice drill is not quite correct, as the "phonetic-musical language art trio" is an interpretation community that should not be preceded by an article as a name. Sigrid Sachse, Harald Muenz and Georg Sachse recite the poetic work of the universal and Merz artist Kurt Schwitters, who as a radical language artist not only wrote the ursonate ( 1923-32 ), but also produced other expressionist and consistent poetry.

What would Ernst Jandl's "Lautgedichte" and Hans G Helms be? Fa: m ?? Ahniesgwow without the preliminary work of Kurt Schwitters in its ursonate? Schwitters not only emphasized a reduction of the language and its sound characteristics in his sound poems, but as a consequence created completely new words whose meaning seems arbitrary and meaningless at the first hearing impression. How do these seemingly arbitrary letters string up their acoustic form? Sprechbohrer demonstrates in clearly formulated and accentuated, yes, distanced and therefore so convincing interpretations the seemingly nonsensical language convoy of an uncompromising free spirit. Although Kurt Schwitters is still considered to be an authentic interpreter of his text material, he finds talk drills with a consistent and crystal clear, "voice-piercing" language processing on the track.

Speech drill is not content with the pure interpretation of the work, but trio succeeds in an exciting, articulating high quality of the texts, with which probably the author would have agreed. In particular, the works, which are still confined to concrete words and numbers and their juxtaposition, get by adding a three-part equipment an additional enrichment. Perfectly structured rhythms or free associations, Schwitters ?? Speech sound scaffoldings provide a seemingly primitive way of accessing the possibilities of a conversation on another level.

Loudness, number, and letter densities prove by their simplicity that our language is composed of "elementary" single signs. "Consistent seal" is the highest possible crushing formula, which is designed by voice drill almost perfectly in the Schwittersschen sense. In addition to proper breathing and clear articulation, the interpretation of Kurt Schwitters' poetry requires a deep sense of acrobatics in the oral cavity and an inversion to the banality of the alphabet and numbers. Whether ursonate or picture poems, nonsense or number puzzle? as masterly as voice drills has hardly any other ensemble content and spirit of Kurt Schwitters before? Poetry recites.
