Maurice Lemaître was born in paris in 1926 and joined the lettriste movement in 1950. Arthur, polemic and painter.
Lemaître's "Le Marche des Barbares Blancs", imagines the invasion of a new wave of barbarians (the lettristes, obviously) who plunge into turmoil a civilisation in ecstacy, represented by the famous verse of Mallarmé "La chair est triste, hélas! et j'ai lu tous les livres". Both these texts were recorded on a Columbia Pathé-Marconi record titled "M. Lemaître Present le lettrisme" (Paris, 1965)
