Karl Holmqvist is a Swedish artist living in Stockholm and Berlin. This CD, pressed by Galerie Neu, documents Holmqvist’s performance at Mehringdamm 72, Berlin on November 14th, 2010, along with two other recent recordings (one for the Frieze Art Fair). In his spoken word pieces, Holmqvist, who also works with installations, films, and books, hints at techniques such as sampling and looping, often using phrases and fragments of titles from art or popular music from which he crafts highly referential acoustic collages.
