SLEEVENOTE
'RITUAL FOXY: TIP IT UP' BY YESTERDAY IN PARLIAMENT FH-B 047 (CD) APR 2007 -- SYNOPSIS - IT'S BEEN A LITTLE WHILE SINCE WE RELEASED SOMETHING BY SOMEONE ELSE, AND THERE'S A GOOD FUCKING REASON FOR THAT. COS AIN'T EVEN BEEN NOTHING WE WANTED TO RELEASE BY SOMEONE ELSE. UNTIL NOW. BECAUSE YESTERDAY IN PARILIAMENT IS A SOLO GWILLY EDMONDEZ JOINT AND YESTERDAY IN PARLIAMENT IS A DIALECTICAL PURIST OUTFIT, FOCUSED LIKE A DEMENTED LASER ON THE GUITAR-VOICE INTERFACE, ITS POLISHED INTRO-FACE, ITS FRICK-BOARDELLO ARCHED ACROSS WITH EVENING PICKLES OF VOICE. SO, ALL THE WAY FROM HIS IBERIANOID MOORISHNESS IN FULL HORN, THROUGH PROTO-BAILEYITE SCRAPPLE TO PERCUSSION / VOICE CUT-UP SHIT ON SOME ART TRIPP iii, i KNOW WHAT YOU BEEN WAITING TO HEAR, COS i KNOW WHAT I BEEN WAITING TO HEAR. hEAR YE; NOW, DROP.
RECORDED BY GWILLY EDMONDEZ IN MONTRÉAL, QC, DURING THE SPRING OF 2007

DESCRIPTION
Yesterday In Parliament is a project conceived by Gwilly Edmondez for youtube, paying gnarled homage to the ubiquitous instrumentalist-demonstration videos posted in absolute earnest by musicians all over the world. Where the run-of-the-mill pours out tributes to beloved players like Boston, Rush and Queen, Edmondez seizes hold of the very intent, distilling its essence to precipitate a naked psychology of appeal.

As fans of the video posts, Manchester, England's Fenland Hi-Brow Recordings (http://www.fenlandhibrow.co.uk) offered to release a CD edition of the Montréal 'ritual' pieces (which made use of the incredible Almaz acoustic guitar from Kinshasa). Following two unsuccessful attempts to bring this stuff to the stage, Yesterday In Parliament continues as a project devoted exclusively to internet video posts, most of which can be found at http://www.youtube.com/user/prducer. The instrumental and vocal attitude of YIP does, however, have an increasing influence on the emergent Gwilly Edmondez solo set.
