Gekaut!! (Bis es von alleine herunterläuft)
Autor, Sprecher, Regie: H. Bohlen In "Gekaut!! (Bis es von alleine herunterläuft)" geht es um Horace Fletcher (1849 - 1919), einen amerikanischen Lebemann, der wahnsinnig gern aß und irgendwann so dick war, daß er sich kaum noch bewegen konnte. Er kam zu spät zur Beerdigung seines Freundes, seine Frau mäkelte ständig an ihm rum, die Lebensversicherung wies ihn zurück. Völlig deprimiert ging Fletcher in sich und stieß auf die grandiose Idee, alles so lange zu kauen, bis es von alleine herunterläuft. Von da an wurde er wieder dünner, gesundete schnell und starb urplötzlich an Bronchitis. Vorher aber verbreitete Fletcher seine Entdeckung über den ganzen Globus. Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts hatte er damit so viel Erfolg, daß man noch heute in 8 Sprachen das Wort fletchern findet (das nichts mit Zähne fletschen zu tun hat). In Anlehnung an Fletchers Technik der Nahrungsaufnahme erzählt "Gekaut!! (Bis es von alleine herunterläuft)" Fletchers Geschichte in Kauderwelsch, einem eigens für dieses Hörspiel entwickelten Idiom, das gelegentlich von Zähneklappern und kleinen Bäuerchen (von Frieder Butzmann) in handliche Stücke zerlegt wird. (Bis es von alleine herunterlaeuft)" is based on the life and ideas of Horace Fletcher (1849 - 1919). Before becoming the worldwide known inventor of fletcherism, he made a fortune as manufacturer of printers' ink and importer of silk and other Oriental merchandise. He was one of the founders of the Bohemian Club, and was famous locally as a snap shooter and manager of the New Orleans Opera. Around 1895 he was so fat that he could hardly turn around. A life-insurance company declined to accept him as a risk. When he even missed the funeral of one of his best friends because of short breath he realized that he was too fat, harrowed by indigestion. Therefore, at the very beginng of the 20th century Fletcher invented a system for the proper mastication of food called "fletcherism". Whith worldwar one Fletcher had the full opportunity to demonstrate the worth of Fletcherism in Belgium. There he worked as member of the Commission for Relief and taught some 8 million starving Belgians to get the full nourishment of their scant rations. Fletcher was reported to be one of the best natured and least fanatical of reformers; he enjoyed the good things of life and was publicly seen taking second helpings of turkey. ""Gekaut!! (Bis es von alleine herunterlaeuft)" tells the story of Fletcher in a lost lingo called "Kauderwelsch" which has some resemblances to the tongue of "The Katzenjammer Kids" in their early days, some teeth chattering and a rising up inbetween forming nice little paragraphs. |
