2 Dutch language cover versions of pop songs sung by kids
MP3:
1. Tienerkoor De Amsterdamse Lieverdjes - Good Morning Starshine (2:25)
2. Meisjeskoor DE ZONNEPITTEN - Poppa Joe (2:26)
A modest contribution of Dutch language cover versions of pop songs sung by kids.
1. Tienerkoor De Amsterdamse Lieverdjes (Amsterdam's Little Lovely Ones) Teenage Choir
The sleeve says that the cute soloist on this song is named Erik and the boys and girls of this choir where between 8 and 16 years of age and they always help each other in all kinds of ways. Obviously this was recorded somewhere in the seventies. The choir was conducted by Elisabeth Duquesnoy and The band by Wolfgang Géri, who also made the arrangements.
2. Meisjeskoor DE ZONNEPITTEN (The Sunflower seeds) Girls Choir
“Who sings along, hits from today” -- This is an attempt to enable kids to sing along the pop-hits of their time. More than half of the songs are translated/adapted Chinn and Chapman works. The Zonnepitten were founded by Gonnie Goossens in Schijndel and existed from 1966-1982. The girls rehearsed twice a week at Gonnie's who wrote down all foreign lyrics phonetically for them. They performed on more than one occasion for the Dutch Catholic Broadcast Society (KRO) and in nine other European countries: Germany, Denmark, Norway, Hungary, England, Scotland, Austria and Switzerland. More info can be found on this page. People who know more about this choir (anything at all) are asked to respond to the mail-address mentioned on that page.
