In December of 1977, at their annual convention at the Camelback Inn in Scottsdale, Arizona, Johnson & Johnson's Health Care Division decided to produce a musical about the launch of their new sunscreen lotion. The show, the subsequent souvenir LP for their staff in attendance, and the sunscreen itself, were all called Sundown.
The music and lyrics were written by Ted Simons and John Allen, respectively. Simons and Allen also worked on the 1979 show for Exxon, Put Yourself in Their Shoes. Intense stuff!
