The Lively Ones - Nothing Really Changes

Not to be confused with the mainstream band called "The Lively Ones", this group was another attempt by the folks at Word Records to keep wayward youth from turning into hippies. This hip folk-rock combo has a couple of catchy "hits" on this goofy LP and, if the mark of a successful pop tune is a catchy beat and memorable lyrics, they deserve a little credit for ""Nothing Really Changes". A nice observation - too bad it is used to argue such a silly set of beliefs!

Thought you might be interested in knowing the Lively Ones (a misnomer if ever I heard one) are covering an artist that's much better known in Christian music circles - Larry Norman. He's the author of several tunes now considered classics of the genre - "I Wish We'd All Been Ready" perhaps is the best known of them all. The first tune I ever heard from Norman had a title I completely sympathized with at the time - "Why Should the Devil Have All the Good Music". Sadly, today I'd add to that, "and why should the Christians have all the bad?" Norman is still a going concern, and has a website at - where else? - www.larrynorman.com.
