Halfway between a fiction film and a documentary, The Master and the Giant deals with the theme of rivalry in creation: one God creates the world and a second destroys it in order to create another, better one. Myth and reality intermingle in this film that explores two distinct worlds: a man and a woman in an Amsterdam neighborhood in the process of being demolished, and images of life in Tunisia on the edge of the Sahara desert.
