My work, Home 2, was about an idealized Western person approaching other countries, about the different perspectives collapsing. For the Metro Pictures show, I will take a step back to deal with the big questions in life; so, in short, at the moment when I care about these things, I would like to share them with other people. I was never so arrogant that I would really believe that my art would be any kind of an education, that I would show people a way of looking that they couldn’t figure out for themselves. I talk about something in this life and this world, and I would be happy to have other people join me. I try to understand the world and the complexity of being completely blind to it. -- Olaf Breuning
