These found footage films are part of a project I had about making “compilation films” – much like the idea of a compilation of a compilation record (samplers I used to collect on punk, surf music, etc.) Through a process of sifting images out of their context (removed though unaltered) and re-connecting them, the sequences dictate their own constructions, become investigations and examinations all their own – a simultaneous micro/macro look at culture, its representation, and its participants.
