Hedy Lamarr and George Anthiel

Lamarr and Anthiel held only one patent, which described a method of radio transmission "frequency hopping" to thwart eavesdropping on a single frequency. Their method, involving synchronized player-piano rolls was never implemented, though the basic idea was highly influential.
