  Sky / Change

SKY / CHANGE

paint sky on everything
project sky everywhere
obliterate an image
the expansion of forms in space:
    cardboard boxes
    foam
    people
sky and shadows
fragmented sky

CONCURRENT ACTIVITIES IN A PROJECTED SKY ENVIRONMENT:

100 CARDBOARD BOXES

BOXES ASSEMBLED -- PAINTED WHITE STACKED --

as a box was painted white the sky projected on it became visible

the space slowly filled with boxes

building blocks -- architecture -- space fillers

towers in a sky landscape

forest of boxes

warehouse -- grocery store -- storeroom -- moving

SKY LAUNDRY PAINTED WHITE

two sheets on clothes lines with sky painted on them, paintings of mine that had been exhibited at the Riverside Museum, and at the 4th Avant Garde Festival in Central Park, got painted out

white paint across the bottom first, then rising like mist, or more clouds, over the whole painting

at first the ambiguity of painted sky and projected sky -- double exposure -- then as the painted image was destroyed, the projected image became clear

opening the way to new work going back to the original color of the sheet white

BOUQUET COVERED WITH FOAM

a bouquet of yellow and orange marigolds and white daisies on a red table with a chair nearby, all got covered with shaving cream. First the vase and table top were covered, then the base of the table, then the flowers, and finally the chair. At the end, all were covered with a sheet of plastic snow falling -- clouds rising -- mist on Mt. Lu -Aphrodite: foam born -- closing up the summer house shroud

enveloping white foam created an enveloping white sky with changing shadows behind

SKY SLIDES

always changing -- some slow -- some fast -- the only light in the darkened room

MUSIC

sometimes the radio: rock
sometimes tape: the Spanish Air Force Band

CROWD

sitting/standing looking/helping coming/going large/small quiet/talking

all movement slow and methodical throughout the three hours

no activity done for any long stretch of time

continuous change throughout the space/work
